Being the Western Cape Distributors for a number of premium motorcycle and outdoor action/lifestyle brands, we've been very busy supporting the local Western Cape riding communities.
Last month saw us taking the Mitas brand to numerous regional events... Below is a brief review and some pictures from The Montagu Junior Offroad Nationals.

Supporting our riders at the Junior National Offroad – Montagu 6 August 2011.

The Cape did entertain in more ways than one.

The day before the event saw the heavens open – dropping torrential rain, & even some snow, onto the Montagu surroundings. This made for the first team challenge for the weekend... Making it from the farm entrance to the race staging area. By mid afternoon the dirt road had become a clay-filled slippery slide, catching a few support vehicles with the wrong tyre choice. Luckily the organisers could quickly rustle up a tractor to the rescue.

Having travelled from all corners of the country, after registration most attempted to get an early night.

From before 6am, the Montagu mountains pulsed to the sweet song of waking 2-strokes.

Hot drinks & roosterbrood was on tap from before the sun rise.

Race-day dawned and the clear skies soon made short work of warming stiff muscles & melting the morning frost.

It was great to see so many National & Regional riders choosing Mitas. The C-18 (intermediate to hard race tyre) looked to be a very popular rear for the day.

Juniors were to run right from the start, and the seniors left.

While the Marshal had advised for caution for the 1st lap, this didn’t stop the riders from shattering the estimated lap times – right from the get go.

While the young riders settled into the race, supports kept the main tent area busy serving hamburgers & vetkook, and working-out drinking arms in the bar.
