We met at Ryder Motorrad in Hillcrest at 7 to depart at 7h30.

I have no idea of how many bikes will pitch for the ride so I arrived first and then the bikes started arriving…………. Eventually there was 19 bikes and I was starting to get nervous.

Mike our workshop manager opened the shop so that we can grab a coffee  while he was checking the bikes and topping up oil and lubing chains………Thanks Mike, awesome service and at 7 on a Sunday morning.  :thumleft: :thumleft:

We slabbed it up to the Ashburton turnoff where we met another 4 bikes that came from Pmb. We all deflated our tyres and hit the dirt.
We skirted Pmb via table mountain and rode next to the Duzi river to Albert falls Dam.
We stopped in at the AMBLE INN PUB and GRILL  just below Albert Falls Dam for a great breakfast to get some energy for the ride to come. A big up to  Mrs Spooner for arranging the food at such short notice. Good food and good people, cheers guys we will be back. Their no’s are: Des 072 620 2807 / Lyn 083 721 8774 and they have a few chalets if you need to sleepover.  :thumleft: :thumleft:

We then headed up towards the Karkloof past York. This section of gravel road is a nice fast section for 25 km’s so I let the racers go ahead and have fun and Fran and I came along at a slightly slower pace.
We then crossed the Howick Karkloof tar road and headed up into the Karkloof reserve for real. This is where the riding  started to get really enjoyable. The tracks are endless up there and we just scratched the surface. I saw Impala and Nyala up there during the ride. We then did a northerly loop and came out at New Hanover for cokes and fuel. From there we headed to Wartburg and then through the valley of a thousand hills and finished back in Hillcrest.
Everyone was bushed but happy and in one piece.

A good ride all in all, Thanks everyone. A big up to Dorothy on her XCountry for handling the ride with ease. It was good to have another Bikesquad member, Mike, along for the ride too.

Thanks for checking out my RR, Cheers.
