Thanks Gasman, appreciate it. We've had some difficulties with internet the past few days, but hope to keep the blog updated every day where possible.

Day 4 - Mariental (Odo 1 408km)

We stuggled to find a place to camp and ended up going to one lodge to the next (far apart in Nam) as all were full.

We ended riding a 25 km corrugated dirt track and a 3 km sandy tweespoor. This last bit took more than 30 minutes and here Tania takes a tumble:

Shortly after I took two!

Day 9 - Bum Hill (Caprivi) - Odo: 2 907km

Sorry for the fwd, but the blog (http://www.crossingafrica.co.za/) takes so much time that I'll have to do a complete RR when we return. This just to show some highlights:

Thanks guys! we're now in Awassa in Ethiopia. Road from Marsabit to Moyale was the highlight of the trip so far. Sadly I cannot post pics where we are now, but we posted some on www.crossingafrica.co.za of the desert. It was hard on the bikes and on us, but the scenery was absolutely amazing!!! Would love to go back one day, but on a light, bigger DS bike. And we weren't even shot at once!  ;D Funny how paranoid we can get sometimes, as we read alot about bandits on that road. hehe. Some people even take armed escorts. We also heard about kids trowing rocks in Ethiopia. We've yet to be thrown, but had no incidents so far... I hope to post a complete RR when we return. With pics!!!

Here are some pics of the road between Marsabit and Moyale:

As you can see the road is pretty rocky and we both had a few tumbles. I had a proper crash when I braked HARD for a ditch in the road. The rear brake hasn't been adjusted properly (oops!) so only the front bit.

Here are the skidmarks:

We spent three nights in Gondar (last one tonight) to catch up on our blog (www.crossingafrica.co.za) and because we only have two weeks on our Sudanese visas - the ferry leaves on Wednesdays for Aswan.

Tomorrow we'll head for Gedaref in Sudan. Can't wait to see the country!

Respect to you both...!

Been following your RR & Blog over the past few weeks and have really enjoyed your way of writing and describing your journey. Almost felt that I am there riding next to you..!

Maybe write a book when you are back.

Safe trip further.
