Ideas on securing the airbox lid??
« on: September 26, 2011, 09:48:56 am »
Pls see pics below, the airbox lid has two brass threads to tighten it , but both are stripped. I cannot think if a way to secure it other than using a self tapping screw, but this wil wear out soon, or to make plan with cable ties, any ideas?
This pic is with lid closed.

drill the hol clean, screw in threaded bar and use nuts to secure closed. Use a plastic glue to fix the threaded bar in the holes.

Yip a larger threaded bar will be needed, or go to a good nut and bolt shop and see if they stock something similar to what is there and replace.
