So what package do you reckon I go with and with whom?

The suspension thing is a big deal for me too, so it would be good if that were sorted as part of it even if I have to pay more. :P
Rally nut. What could possibly go wrong?

I Suggest that you run with Sean. Yesterday whilst i was chatting to him he mentioned that he has spare springs around. How much do you weigh? Ill ask him if he can sort you out with the suspension!

Things are getting really interesting for me now.

I have almost every thing required for the bike barring the ERTF brackets, cables and antenae`s
I am going for my medical this week for my international competition license.
I am going to paymy entry fee and deposits for the sentinel irritrac etc.

Passing the point of no return!

Ok guys. Point of no return passed by today.

Entry has been paid! Bike is looking pretty good! managed an hours riding around yesterday. 2 more hours and she is pretty much run in.

I need to sort out the ICO, Roadbook controls Horn and Switches and all the brackets along with Antennae and power cables!

I am Super stoked that BB is in for the rally aswell.

Sean Gaugain, James West, Justin Taylor and Sam Sunderland are all in for the challenge! (Although Sams foot is a little broken at the moment and will not be able to ride until at least the week before the event!

I have had plenty MX racing in the last couple of weeks now to get some Desert time under the Saddle!

Eish the bike she is beautiful....
For the non-rider types like myself, why the smaller fairing where the Dakar bikes all seem to have much larger fairings?
Is engine size limited at all? Or is it a free-for-all?

The bike looks killer.......
Can't wait for the racing to start, suffering from severe post-Dakar withdrawal
Good luck to both you & BB'07 for the final prep & some good clean racing

Hey Steve. I will be extending the fairing on the bike. They mainly do this to protect the Roadbook and equipment from Roost. It also serves a  wind screen!

As far as i can see in the clasifications we are all limited to 450cc

Work commitments have forced me to withdraw, I'm pretty gutted about this.  :-[

Kenisis, you alone have to carry the flag and live our dreams vicariously! I feel really kak that I'm not gonna do this thing with you.  :-\

Hopefully the organisation will re-imburse me my money.

Ag no man....
Is Kenisis the only South African riding? Mr Curtiss and co planned to get more experience with roadbook navigation before Dakar next year, but I'm not sure if they are going to Abu Dhabi.

Hey SteveD.

There are a couple of South Africans taking part from here. Myself , Sean Gaugain and Nick black on a Quad.

The one too watch is Sean. He will be the one that will be giving it horns with the boys in the front! Nick may be out of the challenge as i have heard that he may need an op after a fall he had a week or two ago. I will be tearing up the back of the field offering assistance to some of the other battling riders!

I am waiting on the entry list and hopefully i will get that soon!

Hey BB.

Sadly work is not permitting me from riding MX daily. I have a route near my house wich is about a 10 KM loop with pylons that i ride almost every after noon.

Not quite the fitness but it helps with the confidence which i am lacking a little at the moment!

Cheers

Ok This week has been a mad week work wise and Challenge wise.

I jumped through a couple of hurdles this week.

Full Medical for the FIM International license.

This included labs, Stress ECG, Cardio Echo, Eye Test etc.

Went and collected the license earlier today. Now just to finish the wiring on the Bike.
