This is not a typical Ride Report.I think
Its more like trying to explain by means of words and pictures the last 9 days of my life, a very special experience and a great adventure!!!
First let me humbly thank The Higher Hand, for protection, guidance and providing to all of us every second of every day!!! Im sure we could have died or suffered severe trauma a zillion times!!!
Also thanks to all my fellow dwags on the trip, yes, we got frustrated with one another on various occasions, but in the end we stood together and made it through!!!
OK, enough of the deep and serious stuff lets get to the nitty gritty.
First of all the trip stats:
Distance just short of 3000ks.
80%+ Gravel and Rough Stuff.
20% Tar
Time 8.5 days.
Falls/ put-downs - 6.
Near misses/falls Hundreds !
Heavy winds 2 days.
Heavy rains 2 days.
Very cold temps 4 days.
Damage to riders:
Rider392 sore, scratched and swollen right knee and aching body.
Skolla Entire body stiff and aching.
Buks Lame right arm/hand.
Baked Beans Just stiff.
WimpieG Very stiff.
His boy Young and full of cu
Damage to bikes:
TransAlp Some scratches and bend stuff on right-hand side.
XT660Z Scratches and bent rear brake pedal and front rim with 3 smileys.
Husky TE610 Taillight not working anymore.
DR650 - Horn not working anymore.
1200GSA Stinking burning clutch on Bastervoet and minor scratches.
Tyres on all bikes warn, BUT NOT ONE FLAT !!!
