............Although I love Ian McShane, love him in everything he does, master of his craft..........
I'll second that, he is brilliant. Was the main reason I watched Deadwood beginning to end. And it was a real good story.

Started watching Sneaky Pete and watched the new Netflix series called Ozark...

I'm about three episodes into Ozark myself - really enjoying it!

Sneaky Pete got a little bit old eventually.  Only so much can go wrong with one dude...
The three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40 and a hammer.  If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape.  If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40.  Otherwise use the hammer.

Finished watching the first season of Ozark last night.

Must say I was pretty disappointed, it really didn't live up to the expectations I had after watching the first couple of episodes. The plot is sloppy, with too many inconsistencies, improbabilities and loopholes to make it compelling viewing.

It occupies the same sort of space as Breaking Bad, but unfortunately it doesn't come close to that classic series imho.

Working through the 4th and final season of Black Sails - very good, quality show about pirates in the 18th century. O0 Definitely not SFW, by the way. It's loosely based on the classis Treasure Island, with some of the characters portrayed in that story. Quite violent too, but very good. It was shot here in Cape Town.

Started watching a series on Amazon now, Hunted. First two episodes aren't bad. Young distressed female agent crossed and working to find the traitor in the ranks. Will see how it plays out.

So I signed up for my free subscription to Showmax this evening, seems like a pretty worthwhile deal.

Watched the first episode of Gangland Undercover.

If the first episode is anything to go by it looks like it is going to be a winner.

Few new series that I quite like,
Stephen Kings Mr. Mercedes, tells the story of a psychopathic killer who drives a stolen Mercedes into a crowd and a recently retired detective who tries to bring him down.

The Sinner - Follows the story of a young woman who commits horrific acts of violence and rage, and to her surprise, has no idea why. And the investigator who becomes obsessed with the case and is determined to dig into her past and figure out "why" this is happening. With Jessica Biel

Strike (British series) War veteran turned private detective Cormoran Strike solves brutal murders with the help of his trusted assistant Robin Ellacott.

Rellik - (Killer spell backwards) tarting at the end, with a prime suspect caught, the series moves backwards in time through the string of gruesome murders, gradually unraveling the truth. Enigmatic, unrelenting and charismatic, we follow DCI Gabriel Markham as he is propelled in an obsessive hunt for a serial killer who left a mark on him both physically and mentally. As the clock ticks back, and Gabriel's personal and professional lives unfurl, we explore the painful psychology of a man disfigured, while the shock waves from the crime ripple out in reverse. Alongside a thrilling chase to catch a brutal killer, Rellik explores the very nature of motivation, as we delve deeper into the past to uncover the events that shape a person into who they will become.

Watched the Pilot of Star Trek Discovery last night.

Was pretty good,  exactly what you'd expect from a Star Trek series I suppose.
But when they showed scenes from the rest of the season at the end - I got a bad feeling about this show.

I did not like it. And the CGI was terrible, especially from outside the ship and space. But maybe they didn't want to spend too much money on a few episodes in this time where even a good series can be chopped at episode 6. What's up with the total new Klingon look?

Watched the first two eps on Netflix - I like it. Though the new take on the Klingons takes some getting used to. It seems almost like they want to depict an earlier version of the Klingon Empire, with more "ethnic diversity" and a rich mythological culture. Remember, this takes place before Kirk and Co.
