Here is an African Eagle owl, recognisable by its pink eyelids. (Or so the book tells me).

This is a bateleur. Really disappointed in how the pic came out, but it was raining and the light was really not on our side.

This is one of the birds I really wanted to see, the ground hornbill. They are endangered.

Those of you who know Satara restcamp might know about the resident Scops Owl.

That is it for now.
I have a couple of birds of prey to share, but they are more difficult, and I suspect I'm going to be asking names instead of giving names with quite a few of those.

Can't edit from mu cell, but I see the Sasol guide says Verreaux's eagle owl, not African Eagle owl.

This is one of the birds I really wanted to see, the ground hornbill. They are endangered.

Ons het augustus omtrent 10 bymekaar gesien - tussen skukuza en berg en dal. Daar was een ou bromvoel en het heeltyd geloop en brom. Kon sien hy sukkel om by te bly.

Ek is ook mal oor die bateleurs. Pragtige voels
