Anyone here ever been able to snap (or even just see) a Piet-my-vrou (red chested cuckoo)? Or a Meitjie (Klaas's cuckoo)?

I live in Stellenbosch and hear them every day, like right next to the house, but never seen 'em :P

Piet-my-vrou:

Meitjie:

My son swears he's gonna be first in the family to get a pic ;D

I took a lot of photos of red chested cuckoos at De Rust, a resort on the banks of the Pienaars river in Dinokeng a couple of years ago. They were sitting around in the trees like sparrows, along with woodland kingfishers and pearlspotted owls at night. I will scan and post them when I have the time.

The 5am alarm clock :-)  Egyptian Goose

The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

BMW 650 Dakar - don't get to ride it much anymore - my son has claimed it
Aprilia Dosodura 750 - My new bike - I love it
Husqvarna 610 TE (Sponsored) :-)
