Te 510
« on: November 21, 2011, 12:56:52 pm »
Well the maiden ride is over ...

Only one word can sum it all up......FARK !!!!

The bike is a beast , full stop , rule off!!!!  Given free reign she will hospitalise me in the blink of an eye.

Once the running in is complete I will elaborate more about the bike.

At the moment I can confirm that its brute strong , wheelies for nothing , does jumps beautifully....and wants to put her arse out around every corner  :mwink:

Oh yes , and according to those that rode behind her , she throws stones at people!!!

Is that a 2008??
The three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40 and a hammer.  If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape.  If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40.  Otherwise use the hammer.

Last night I was buggered , this morning I cannot wait to go ride again.

It was a humbling experience riding the new bike. She scared the crap out of me once or twice  :mwink:

So how does the DRZ feel in comparison?

I, for one, can never go back to the likes of a XR400 or DRZ.

Howdy Pierre

You cannot compare the two bikes.

The DRz is a great bike in my opinion , but it has its limitations.

The 510 is a beast , with me being the limitation.

It is going to take a while to get comfortable with the 510.  The DRz was second nature already.

Glad you got the carb model  :thumleft:

That's the reason I sold my 990 for a 2006 950 a while back. So much smoother, and no less power.

Ejoy it, and delete the number plate FFS  :imaposer:

Late yesterday afternoon the itch got too bad , so I decided to go ride across Breedts and the surrounds for the hell of it.

The northern slope is nicely washed out in some places...perfect for playing with a toy like this.

Managed to just make it home before dark , with a couple of  fuel vapours left in the tank.

180 odd km's of fun  :mwink:  That dirt stretch begind the Magallies filling station seduced me , did it three time  :imaposer:

Something tells me we are beginning to bond :mwink:
