Had a visit to him this morning: Still in ICU, HEAVILY sedated, on the respirator and other tubes.

Also spoke to Mrs Mielies by phone. Didn't leave printouts, not ready for that yet.

Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear about you Meilies and post us a report so we can compare as if you went down 5m with those injuries we need to know why I dropped 24m with a broken tooth and a dislocated shoulder, but hey man you will have to chill for a while as ribs are not comfortable and I'm still recovering but looking forward to riding again. A report is worth getting the feed back as you do learn from this. Happy healing.

Hi Rat,
Still amazes me, I know construction, we work at up to 170m, 4m you can easily be dead, 10m you usually are I worked in comfort at 40m like walking a street, but 24m you have an Angel watching you my friend.

A big factor were those huge boulders and rocks...... in Chris's accident. He dropped his bike on the gravel and then took a plunge downstairs. He ended up next to the farmers fence. The bike were about 1 meter from him.

Well the Rat is back up and on two wheels. I had a great ride on the new Vara demo and we decided to come home over the Franschoek Pass and stop on my corner and have a look. Bit crazy when you stand there and look at it first hand, and I must say that the lack of concentration would be the biggest factor, even with the double left hand bend. Glad I've gone back over the pass and got that outof my system. Meillies, go back as soon as possible as it helps.
