Race Dog
so on tuesday i went out for a spin on the viffer, feeling rather spiffy in my new leathers... came around a blind corner and was confronted with a rather large rock (the size of a large shoe) in the middle of the road. at this point i had two options, swerve and attempt to miss it but probably run wide and hit the wall. or bite the bullet and hit it!
this is the damage,
the rim was split length ways
the front wheel deflated immediately and the bike developed a rather aggressive head shake. i somehow managed to keep it on two wheels, very lucky. i owe my reactions to dirt riding, playing in the mud teaches a rider how to react to a bucking bike...
what this event has done has made me rethink riding, but i could never give up bikes, without them life would not be half as enjoyable. just wanted to share my rather exciting week with you guys.
