Most of the times petrol quality is fine but North from SA it changes. For what it's worth these coffee filter bags are cheap and will help prevent the worst getting in your tank.

The notorious KTM990 fuel filter can get clocked up easy with this stuff, just as example, any other bike can have the same problem.

I just had this gut feel to buy the bags in Kenya and used it when filling up in Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia. This is what it looks like in Ethiopia.

For what it's worth, it might not always be necessarily but it will save time and drama when your bike jerk to a stop in some god forsaken place
