Ja so the long awaited get to know all trip finally happened. Early morning we met at the Pinehaven Garage, and met everyone, and greeted friends already met on previous rides. Was an excellent turnout - 15 bikes in total, with the KLR's (3) being th ebest attended. Actually there were two of each, except for the lonely AT of Gideon & the KTM of a guys who's name I have forgotten.(Sorry man - but he's not on this forum yet)

Wino was in charge and soon we set off for Breedtsneck and whatever challenges awaited us there.

We stopped near Magalies as one of the okes had to offload his KTM (motoX) bike as it was not road legal.

Unfortunately is was a K@k To Maintain, so the bike wouldn?t start

so the owner tried towing it behind his bakkie???..

and eventually this had to happen ??..

Well he got his bike going and we set off to the imfamous Breedtsneck Pass

The route we wanted to take looked rather daunting so Shark, Wino, Digital Dan, Louis & the guy on the KTM went to down to see if we?d get through.
The route was tough, even the KTM couldn?t make it. Getting the bikes out of there was a moerse job with lots of spills & sweet

After all that we had to take a break

From there we decided to head back to the canal 2 route and ride it in reverse sequence back to Harties. Sun city was somewhere in the vicinity?

but we were in biking Utopia?.

The route along the canal was dry, no mud except for a few spots, but the grass was shoulder high when standing. Believe it or not ? there?s 13 bikes behind me somewhere in that grass?

Eventually we got to Upperdeck where we all enjoyed a hearty meal.
Harties had one of the sleuch open, so some lovely green water was flowing out the dam

Great report, the pig has been so nice to me since I didn,t try to take her downd that hill, I think we would still be there trying to extracate it.

What an awesome ride. It was nice to meet all the new faces....

Here are my pics:

The PTA people meeting early in the morning at John Voster Frinze and Gideon. DigitalDan and Ufudo joined as well.

At Pinehaven, coffee was enjoyed by all (It was very cold for so early in the year!!)

On the way to Magalies, I went ahead to take some pics, missed the first few fumbling with the zip to get the camera out.

First off thanks guys great ride ! Nice to meet everyone as well. Here are some of my pics.

Meeting the PTA guys at 6:20 am, I was at the very top of the on-ramp and thought it was an April fools joke when there was no-one there

Meanwhile they were further on up the road. An early misty start.

There were some cool photos to be had as I rode to Pinehaven, but I had to make the most of my headstart. The big bikes were chasing me

The first stop of the day where the KTM300 was offloaded. Shark and Welshman discussing the ride ahead.

Top of the pass, the road was easy compared to what lay ahead. Beautifull view indeed.

The trail up ahead looks difficult and it was REAL difficult, we had to give it a try though. Coming down the track, still pretty easy going.

Er ok maybe not, Shark and KTMguy (forgot name :? ) battling the BIG hill with soccerball sized rocks !

When I saw them spinning and going at it I decided to park my bike three quarters of the way down along with Leo. Looking back now I should have givin it a go but it was real tough getting the bikes back up so I decided to spare ourselves pushing a fifth one back up, plus someone had to take the pics

Thanks everyone for the ride, the report and all the photos. It was a great ride. The forum feels much more real now that I've shared a ride with you guys.

There's not much more to be said but it truely was a GREAT ride...

Thanx for all the great pics, it brings back the good times that was had.

BTW.. it wasnt a tricky water crossing.. it was a MUD PIT.. so i thought i'll treat my baby to a mud masque....

It was nice meeting the forum dwellers, putting some faces to the names.
