« on: December 30, 2011, 10:05:05 am »
What are you okes smoking down there... ???  The rates are INSANE!!!

I have a wedding at Vrede and Lust in March, and looking for some decent, affordable accommodation for the missus and I.  Anyone have any recommendations?

Franschhoek is expensive.............no doubt about it.

Have a look at this place.

What's nice about it, is that it is just down the road from Vrede en Lust.
Hope it helps. ;)

Cool, thanks.  I expect the reception to be quite rough though, would like to stay as close as possible to the venue.

Or find pink accommodation, something cheap with a slight twist. 2SD lives around the corner ;)

Relook at Paarl - its 15km from Vrede en Lust (in Simondium) while most of Franschoek is 20km.
(It's probably a grand a night cheaper per couple too!
F-hoek caters for Dollar-Euro-Yen customers)

We went to a wedding at V+L two years back and stayed in Franschoek
but the stay was sponsored, so I can't comment on cost.

I've actually made a booking at Simondium guest house @ R 750 per night for the two of us incl. breakfast.  Not paid yet, so will have a look around still. Thanks gents.
