while everyone else was riding breedstnek i was drinking beer and watching bikes getting stuck in the mud.
the bapsfontein gp is held in bapsfontein (no, really??).
about 250 bikes lined up and roared across a field full of rocks and holes and bushes. there was one spectaular wipe out but i was too far to get a pic.
at the end of the field is a farm gate that they all squeeze through.
but its the mud that took the biggest toll. there was a marsh that they had to cross but i was too lazy to walk there and get pics.
the river crossing was hugely entertaining. the poor riders got stuck and fell off and got stuck again. oh, how we laughed and laughed.
after the river crossing was a steep koppie with loads of rocks and quite a few guys fell off on the way up. again i was too far to get decent pics.

i'm not a complete idiot. some parts are missing.

Lazy bastard!
You should at least be walking to the action, if not taking part yourself!

TC.. you shoulda put a sixpack at all the points of interest, this way you would have had an excuse to walk there.. and take some shots while ure on a mission for beer.

Thanks for the report... it sure brings back memories! I remember the
swamp / mud hole thing after that gate   You should have strolled
up there - you would would find bikes and riders seriously stuck!

me and my mates are terribly disorganised (think blow job and brothel). we walked around with a six pack (okay 5 pack) in one hand and a beer in the other. we have decided to bring a cooler bag to the our next meeting.
my girlfriend also stepped into a hole and twisted her ankle. so i had to carry my own beer.

Was there as well, drank a load of beers (brother carried beers along in side pannier with lots of ice - looked like the Dakar had serious water leak problems :D ) and got piets by the sun.
