while everyone else was riding breedstnek i was drinking beer and watching bikes getting stuck in the mud.
the bapsfontein gp is held in bapsfontein (no, really??).
about 250 bikes lined up and roared across a field full of rocks and holes and bushes. there was one spectaular wipe out but i was too far to get a pic.
at the end of the field is a farm gate that they all squeeze through.
but its the mud that took the biggest toll. there was a marsh that they had to cross but i was too lazy to walk there and get pics.
the river crossing was hugely entertaining. the poor riders got stuck and fell off and got stuck again. oh, how we laughed and laughed.
after the river crossing was a steep koppie with loads of rocks and quite a few guys fell off on the way up. again i was too far to get decent pics.
