Accommodation in or near Himeville
« on: January 06, 2012, 10:53:39 am »
I want to take my hubby to Himeville for his birthday as he really really wants to do the Sani Pass. (on our bikes of course)..  Any other accommodation in that area besides the Himeville Arms and the Sani Valley Lodge? Any suggestions would be appreciated!   :)

We have stayed at the Elgin Guest Farm 8 km outside of Underberg. It is a very nice place. Did cost R 660 for the two of us two years ago.

You can try Khotso Backpackers near Himeville. The guy there knows a lot about the area as well as does hikes and horse rides in the mountains there

There are a good few B&B's in Himeville itself... we stayed in one of the establishments at a daily rate of R220 pp excl breakfast.

Sure if you check the B&B 'shlenternet' sites you'll find something suitable. Have fun, such an awesome place! Try and do the river tubing if you can.

Cheers  :ricky:

Last Nov. I stayed at the Sani Backpackers lodge. Highly recommended so long as you're into 'cheap and cheerful' and very sociable.
I paid only R100 for a 4 bed dormitory room, but double rooms are only R120.
There's a well equipped kitchen to prepare your own food, and a fridge full of beer, with an 'honesty book' system. They also sell meal vouchers for the Sani Pass Hotel just across the road.
