My wife decided to leave me........... ok, only for 7 weeks...........phew.
She left this morning to Paarl and I decided to escort her to Grahamstown where she will pick up a friend who will accompany her to Paarl. When we left King William’s Town this morning it was heavy mist all the way to Grahamstown and onwards. This will be my first SOLO trip, so from Grahamstown, after we said our good byes, I looked for the first gravel road I could get and headed down to Shamwari game reserve. My wife normally takes most of the photos while we ride, now with her in the cage on her way to Paarl, I was the driver and photographer.
5 o Clock and on the road, have a safe trip.

After Grahamstown I took the gravel road to Shamwari game reserve.

I think this road can be tricky in the rain. Luck was on my side today, no rain.
After Shamwari I took a gravel road to the left (this road is nowhere on tracks4africa) that would take me to Paterson. What an interesting piece of road it was. It started out reasonably nice, later it became a tweespoor, and then you cross three cement bridges and a few closed farm gates. I don’t know if I’m explaining it right, but it looks like they dam the river up on the one side, obviously from the side the river flows. You will have a dam on the one side and a river on the other side. If the dam is full it will overflow and run down the river. In any case, here are the photos.
