HONDA CBX 250 TWISTER
« on: January 14, 2012, 04:54:01 pm »
I got a Honda CBX 250 Twister to cut down the KM's on the BM GS 800 which is 80% used for travel between PTA and Sandton. I know, I know it is not a DS bike but was convinced that I must try it. Got one with low km's for 15K.  and boy am  I impressed. Massive NM's for a 250.

Used it 5-days now, does 140 on the highway but average 130km/h with a consumption of 3.2 lt / 100km.

Now I can use the GS for the weekends  ;D ;D ;D

Gr8 move, it shares the engine with the 'Tornado' but should perform a little bit better with diferent gearing and less wind resistance. Congrats!  :thumleft:

Have Twister as well for city commute.

Fuel consumption  :  Worst  28 km/L     Best 32.1 Km/L   and I weigh +110kg

Made myself a replacement passenger grip that incorporates top box mount. Leka big Top box that takes my laptop and 2  piles of 36 books or bread, milk and fruit from the shops.

I like to twist the ear through Targetkloof because it is so sure footed and responsive(read light) on the road.  Easily stay with or in front of traffic.

Replaced tyres after 12 000 km of hard riding and evenly worn right up to the side. I like to lean it in corners.

NO problems at all so far.  Replaced oil after 1000km with good synthetic. Every  5000km there after (stuff the 3000)
After 3 years nearly onto 15 000km.

Best purchase I have ever made.

PS......
Just wonder why the guys on the bigger bikes greet you when on the Alp but ignores me on the Twister.
Dont kick a dwog and expect him to lick your wounds afterwards.
