Here's another and possibly a Wild Dog first.  I've not been able to confirm its correct name.  I was told it's called Hels se Pas.  It's a perfectly rybaar road and is public as far as I can tell.  It's certainly very scenic with a modest 500m drop from top to bottom.  It comes out in a particularly deserted corner of the Knersvlakte.  Really great riding.

The Wikipedia file for passes in Kwazulu Natal indicates:-
1. The Botha's Pass as a gravel road, it is a tar road but with a lot of pot holes, an attempt to fill them up with gravel was done but I don't think it's going to hold during the rain sesion with all the truck.
2. Knights Pass as a tar road but it is gravel.
3. Mullers pass and Normandien pass are gravel with very nice scenery.

I don't know whether this has been pointed out already, but Soutpansnek as indicated on most maps is incorrect. It is not really as pass anyway, but I see it is included on page one. The actual Soutpansnek is just north of Wolwefontein en route to Jansenville at S33 14 51.4 E24 50 13.5 (44km south east of Jansenville). On most maps Soutpansnek is however wrongly indicated to be at S32 51 30.3 E24 43 36.7 (11km north of Jansenville), which is actually Ravelskloof.

Great thread, excellent effort, I like that Wikipedia references Wilddogs for more info as per below:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attakwaskloof_Pass

One question though, does anyone have a route/track for Attakwaskloof pass. It is not where I thought it was and where is is indicated there seems to be no road/trial.

That answer is easy... there is no road/trail  :eek7: Remember Attakwaskloof and Attakwas pass are two different roads. Attakwas pass you're on your own. I'll go around and meet you on the other side with a bag for all the bits and pieces  :imaposer:

Is it not called the Ox Wagon Route ?

I am referring to the one in the link Attakwaskloof Pass that starts near Bonniedale farm and runs past the Attakwaskloof Memorial and meets up with the R328 near the Voortrekker Memorial between George and Oudshoorn.

There is a very clear two spoor track on Google Earth and I can see a road on my phone using Google Maps but none of my Garmin map-sets has anything.

Jup, is this ridable?

Its the old ossewa route. As far as I know its a decent 2spoor 4x4 track.  Not too difficult for small bikes (plastics).  But I have heard that its not advisable to take a heavy bike on this one, that said, its probably possible if your one of those " I ll show you I can do it" types of people.

I have not done it yet myself though. Trailrider has gone over there both with bike and 4x4 so he'll know more.

That sounds like Attakwas pass. Have not done it, but not advisable for a big bike. Attakwaskloof runs East to West from Bonniedale and joins the R327 just above Cloetes pass. Nice ride.

I rode that one, very nice ride. The other one sounds like something to go do.
