Now this is good news, at least for me! I have been waiting months to get my hands on a Aprilia Pegaso 650 Trail. It would appear from the following report in Wheels24, and the local PE Aprilia dealer, that new stock will start arriving in mid August. I sincerely hope that this is not just more promises and media hype.

You didnt need to wait so long.You could have bought the xt660r.It has the exact same motor.Compair the motors !

Not quite true Mr XT660R. While the Yammie is a very nice scoot and quite desirable, the only thing in common between the XT660R and The Pegasio 650 Trail is as you point out, the mill under the fuel tank. It is however not the "exact same" motor.

The motor used by Aprilia is motivated by the same 659cc thumper as the Yamaha XT660, a fuel-injected single-cam engine built by Minarelli. It's oversquare at 100x84 but tuned to produce its 37kW maximum grunt at a lowish 6250rpm. That's about two kilowatts more than Yamaha claims thanks to a freer-flowing exhaust system. The point being that there are a few modifications introduced by the Italians, so not exactly the same motor, but rather a XT660 motor built under licence.

As to the rest of the bike. Sorry cannot agree. It is another bike - different frame, suspension, tank, controls, etc. ect. I am prepared to wait, I mean just look at the baby below!

Do you think they will be bringing the Caponord Rally Raid to SA? Could be a GS contender ...don't know if the are produced anymore?

Until the new sock arrives, the local dealer could not give a final quote. He did however state that he expect it to be in the R63k - R65k range.

I've stumbled across that also ....should've googled first

...but I'm still wondering whether they will bring the Rally Raid version to SA....maybe it's only a special edition thing ...sure looks like one mean off road touring machine...saw a photo of one a while ago in a ride report (can't remember which one
