DASSIESFONTEIN FOR B/FAST AND HERMANUS FOR LUNCH
« on: January 23, 2012, 07:21:29 am »
It was a perfect day for a ride with excellent companions.
Pitty I woke up so late after a 21st was held at my place.
I only woke up as I entered the Engine one stop and realized I had just missed my own ride!

Caught the lads up pretty quickly though.
As usual , a good turn out .
Thanks to Rovrat for guiding us through Caledon and the Stanford Outback to Elim and back to Hermanus for lunch.
I will post the special race stage on the tar back to Gordons bay later.

Will post route on this post later

the chances of me finding/riding those roads on my own are zero.

The best were the smaller roads, the worst was the N2 and R300 trying to keep up to Sparky and battling the traffic and wind. That's what you get for enjoying yourself so much that you run out of time and need to hurry later.

I'm embarrassed to say it, but it was my first time on a bike on the Rooiels road, and what fun it was. I tried to keep up with 2StrokeDan but failed miserably.

Helshoogte, Franschoek and Rooiels on a DS is where the dual comes in. What a blast to do the same roads as the cruiser and superbike crowd but also be able to explore all the backroads :thumleft:

waiting for our fearless leader who jolled with the young ones and couldn't take the punch

Sparky contravening rule 13.3 B: talking to a lady without Andrť's permission
check Andrť's sweet 1150 ADV.

Franschoek pass was covered in a cloud. It was nice to feel cold for a change

Snafu on his way to some burning town (I really don't know what town that is, please help)

The strong winds and dry veld aren't helping

Maak gou weer so!
