Petrol Shortage

Did anyone have a problem getting petrol today?
I visited 3 garages on the hunt this morning!

Strike is now into it's third day. Plan at Mosselbay is shut down.

Apparently the drivers are also striking, so therefore the shortage.

They mentioned BP on the radio. Sure it must affect others as well?

My cage (Jeep CRD) is a diesel burner and in view of all the doom and gloom talk I decided to rather take all my jerry cans and go to a local diesel depot in Deal Party early this morning and "MAAK HOM VOL SKAAP".  Although I had to rub shoulders with the big trucks and other long haul okkies, I do not mind as diesel is about 40c a liter cheaper at this depot. A few hundred rand later I asked the owner "Now what is exactly the situation?"  It would appear that there is more than enough fuel available, but the problem is the distribution network.  Apparently after the major problems experienced last year vast reserves were stockpiled.  He was not to concerned as he owned his own browsers and they collected their diesel (Sasol) themselves from the harbour.  So if the other fuel stations run dry, I know where to go :evil6:

My 2c worth of info this fine morning in PE.

Long queues is stations around New Harare (Jhb) this morning.
A government spokesman said on the radio last night "Do not panic
and make sure that you have at leat a quarter tank in your car" That should
be good for a day or so.

Can a petrol engine run on Benzine????
