The stock fan switch causes the fan to kick in at 102C. In colder temps that might be OK, but I live in the Kalahari. By the time the fan kicks in the bike is already seriously hot. The fan then struggles to get the temps down to an acceptable level.
KTMTwins and Rally Raid UK both have replacement switches at acceptable prices, but shipping takes a long time, and in the case of KTMTwins, shipping is very expensive.
I went with the Suzuki LTZ 400 switch which is rated at 88C. Part number is 17680-50F70. Although essentially plug and play, I swopped the original KTM o-ring across, as it looked more substantial.
Fan now kicks in at 4 bars, which is perfect for my conditions. I'm happy...
