TE 610 facelift!
« on: February 26, 2012, 12:50:25 pm »
Ok so eventually got round to fitting the 630 light and fairing unit to my 610 - thanks to a secong hand find on CH. The 630 part compared to the 610 is chalk and cheese - 610 light is really Mickey Mouse and the 630 is H4, and the whole housing is also stylish, and very well made and thought out (by Polysport) with the front cover being a push fit etc. Is a relatively straight forward swopout - need to splice in a female H4 fitting but that is about it.

I also retrofitted the BMW Dakar screen I had fitted to the old 610 setup = I shaped the bottom of the screen to match the 630 light and I think it looks cool. One of the best smallish screens IMHO. Nice thing as well is three small bolts and it is off if you want it nakid... Importantly I spaced it away with rubber bungs and tap washers to allow for laminar airflow underneath and up the back of the screen - prevents buffeting.

A Happy Husky!  :ricky:

Ja had thought of painting it black - still undecided. Light is greatly improved.  :thumleft:

Maybe try some black stick-on vinyl?  Should be easy to make a pattern to cut it?  Plus you could get funky and add a Husky logo as well  :thumleft:

Yeah had also crossed my mind - is at least reversable if need be and quite resiliant. Problem with painting white plastic black is if it scratches looks kak quickly. The white actually does not look too bad in real life and the screen not so dark. Will live with it like this for a while and see.

Thanks - ja the Baja D stuff is cool - I have a special soft spot for their 8" Round Baja Light which I have fitted to my HP2 and had initially thought of that for the Husky too but this new 2nd hand 630 light came up at a reasonable price, and hey its not like I am riding the Baja at night, or even that much after dark really  :D

Front guard is from Motorsports - I also modded their rear one to fit the 610. See 'Sharf Fin Soup'  :o for full monty
