It was a great weekend, saw darksider just as we were about to start.
Battled a bit with time trial to get my rythm, but very good time. We slept at a guest house in the main street, not nice. Singing, cars being revved to death, trucks coming past all night.
But Saturday started out good, felt good, had a good position in relation to my class.
First lap went well, I was feeling good, second lap went even better. Was feeling good and strong. Got the final DSP, refueled and took off for the last few kays.
Then at 35km from the end my bikes started weeving on one of the fast straights, scary. Had to reduce speed after that to about 25/30km an hour and could stay on top till 8kms before end. By then 3 of my class competitors passed me. It was disappointing.
My mousse in the real wheel overheated/cooked and collapsed. At 8km from finish and could go no further. Took wheel and tyre off and then completed on the rim.
But that is racing, you have to finish first to finish. Next time...
