Ready to deliver and collect new bike from Jupiter.
« on: March 02, 2012, 06:08:31 pm »
Soooo,
Gerard's probably JUMPING round right now with excitement, mind you, I'm also pretty excited.. But also a little sad. Tomorrow we ride 600 Km's round trip to go and swap our two machines. The Tenere' is still an awesome bike, and I'm sure Gerard will have plenty happy km's motoring with him. He's a good looking bike, and has behaved, performed willingly whenever I've asked him to, and has taken both myself, and my missus safely around the Penninsula for the past year. Only reason for the change really is to get a bigger 2 up capable bike that we can use to go places and see some of the Country sometime. I'll never be able to ride the Ten or use it how it's meant to be used, and will be happy that Gerard will certainly go on adventures with him, and know he'll take good care of Gerard as well.  :3some:

Here he's packed with the spare tyres for tomorrow 7:00 am departure.

Ride Safely Gerard, and see you in Riversdale. ChrisL, hope you can come up for a brekkie as well buddy. See you all at the Wimpy tomorrow 12:-- am.  :thumleft:

Have a good weekend guys.

regards

Alan

Back home. No question I'm not a "Hardcore" biker like you other ou's that can gooi 600, 800, 100 or more km's per day..  :eek7: Was more comfy going up on the Ten with my airhawk airseat on.. But the trip back I did Kak off.. Still need to get used to the bike, but wasnt happy with the seat height etc, and didn't have the airhawk on for the trip back, so really took strain. 650 Km's round trip, and close to 12 hours, I'm royally KNACKERED...  :bootyshake: This is me showing you ou's my sore ass..

I have to say a BIG THANKS to Max Lange who was my ride companion all the way there and back, seriously Max, it's much appreciated. I will make a plan to repay the gesture soon buddy.  :3some:

The ONLY pic I took..

It's the BEST timed Photograph on the Planet.. Who can see why???

Max's 1200 on the left, Gerard's "new" Yamaha 660 Tenere' in the middle, And my "New" 1200 GS Adventure on the right.. But for those with an eagle eye, you'll all spot ChrisL in the background.. Cool hey..  :mwink:

Gerard, many safe and happy miles boet, and we'll cross paths again, who know's when. Chris, lekker to have finally "met" you, as well as Footpeg se pa, good meeting you as well boet, and also "Seeduivel" whom we bumped into at the Wimpy in Robertson on the way up..  :thumleft:

I think Chris has Peechas and Jupiter, Will see tomorrow.. Ride safe.

Cheers

Alan

Thanks, I'm happy, just have to get used to the quirkiness\differences.

Gave him a 3 hour wash and refurb today, and fitted new Head Protectors, now he looks the schnizzle..
