Moondog broken - then 'fixed' - now to get the Meccano out.
« on: March 07, 2012, 11:03:12 am »
I had an atercation witha car lane splitting this morning - car on my left moved unexpectedly - swerved but still clipped the mirror - huge wobble and had to put my leg down to save the fall - kept it up, but the second I put the foot back on the peg I felt that the leg was broken. Rode the bike 2 kms back to the Wilgeheuwel hospital - they took me off the bike straight into a wheelchair, immobilised the leg and provided much needed drugs.

Opperation tomorrow to fix the shattered tibula.

I will be out of action for some time :( Still, it could have been much worse - at least I could avoid the fall.

Eina! You must have made contact tibula vs. bumper too?

Hope the leg's not too bad and will heal quickly.

Ai tog, Moondog!  Glad you're OK.  Where did it happen?  As you know, I travel the exact same route as you every day... Glad it's not worse, and that the bike is not dented.

Not every day you hear about a broken leg due to an altercation with a car where there was no fall.
Respect.
;D

Although it could have been worse you are still injured, so good luck with the recovery though.
Glad it wasn't worse.

I'm curious - what did the guys there say when you drove yourself to hospital on a bike with a broken leg ?

:)
