So what did you guys get upto this weekend? Bet my bottom dollar mine was better! Give any guy a pet project to convert a great bike into an even better one and you will find it hard to get that smile of his face!
So, here is my beloved KTM 690 R, ready to be converted for Amageza.
Armed with the Rally kit from Omega Fibreglass and my iPad for step by step instructions, I was ready to rock and roll.
First, strip her down to the bones which also turned out to be a good time to clean in all those usually not reached areas. Rewire all the cables and make a couple of minor mods to make space for the tanks.
First come the tanks and then the front subframe and lights cluster.
Once that was all fitted, it was easy enough to sort out all the electonics and fit the fairing, and before you knew it – voala! 1 times KTM 690 Adventure.
I must be honest, I was initally a bit apprehensive as this was a LOT of MOOLA, but after I got all the parts and realised the extend what Omega Fibregalss has gone through to design and build this fairing, tanks and subframe I was totally stoked!
For anyone looking to do this, all I can say is you wont be sorry. Initially feels a bit odd having this big fairing that stands still whilst you turn but for anyone that’s owened a 990 before, you get used to it quickly.
So there she is, cant wait to go put her through her paces. See you guys out there!
