Hellhound, go to your profile and set your default style to "phpBBLite", this is much easier on the cell-phone and you can also upload pics directly to this forum. Specifically designed for remote usage. Let me know if you want any asistance. I can set up your user like this if you want?

Day 4
« Reply #25 on: April 19, 2006, 02:41:28 pm »
We got of to a muddy start from Ficksburg. Everything was still wet from all the rain, but fortunately the weather turned for the better. What an awsome day's riding! Spectacular tracks and scenery. The last 30km of gravel was hell though, pitch dark and very muddy. I will do the Dusty  Butt any time again before I do that 30k's again! 717km was done today, and tomorrow's leg is even longer.

Ps. pics for day 2 and 3 updated :D

Day 5
« Reply #29 on: April 20, 2006, 02:20:37 pm »
Day5, and we have a problem. One of the Dakar's battery keeps on running down during the night. Fortunately Graaf Reinet has a battery center but not the correct battery. We had to fill it up with new acid and jumped started it from one of the other bikes. It cost us a lot of time and we managed only 364 k's. But it was a wonderful days riding. Perfect weather and open roads with the occasional swarm of locusts. A good evening braai in Oudtrshoorn and a couple of beers and everyone is happy. Attached is a picture of my foot that took a beating when I had a spill near Kosi bay.
