Hello guys
.. beautiful sunny day with temperatures in summer. I'll take a short but beautiful ride in motion. Destination Bagheria .. just 20 miles from Palermo. Arriving in town I went immediately to visit the beautiful Villa Aragon Cutò built in the first half of eighteenth century will of Baldassare Naselli Primcipe of Aragon. Massive and square in its structure is characterized by a large gallery or roof terrace from which you can enjoy (.. it was definitely better in the eighteenth century!) A beautiful view over the sea and the surrounding area. The frescoes on the ceilings of the school of Borremans. Today it houses the town library, a section of the University of Dams but most wonderful and surprising Toy Museum and the Wax Pietro Piraino with its thousands of toys that cover the time period 1700 to 1900 in an extraordinary collection. Very touching a wooden toy gun from the Nazi death camp of Mauthausen. It was built by a father to play the jew son of eight years, using a machine gun shell, wood and barbed wire fences. It was donated to the museum by the uncle of the child never to forget the horrors of the Holocaust.
Then from there head to the Villa San Cataldo Galletti of the eighteenth century. built in the early eighteenth century and rebuilt in neo-Gothic in the nineteenth century and finally a visit to the External Beam Casaurro which was owned by the original amount of the Prince of Palagonia, around the eighteenth century.
The day could not end better with a visit to Grandma for the occasion prepared me a plate of past with sardines !Pending the report .. good vision. All photos on www.francescoinviaggio.it    -  SICILIA ON THE ROAD 2012
