How serious are you for 2013, Bloubal? If serious then us Wilddogs have got to start coming to the party, and contribute to a real effort. I will contribute for sure, and maybe some okes on this forum can, by contributing to your Dakar effort, buy some BMW silence from me? >:D

I'm seriously serious. Busy with website development right now, and will make formal announcements soon. Without sponsorships its not going to happen, so I want to try and have things up and running within a month.

I'm in.
How about "selling" specific bits of the route, for a price per km? And for being such nice generous people, you send us that portion of the logbook afterwards....
You are mos going to make it all the way to the end, we know that. A bit of "BlouBull rode this piece of the Dakar and I helped make it happen" might generate some interest, if it is allowed.

That is a good idea Steve, although if I were evr to do something as spectacular as Dakar, I would want to keep the roadbook as souvenir.

Great idea Steve, I will definitely give that a go.

So I was in the KTM shop here in Lima today. They reckon they can order me a brand new 450 RR for R295,000...shipping September. Versus getting a 2nd hand one in June for R217,000 with factory forks, but with one Dakar on the engine already. A new motor will set me back wait-for-it R68,000. There is only one way to describe this: F*****n belaglik.  :o  :(

What do you reckon I chance it on the old one?

Talking seriaas tin here BB.   :3some:  Only you know the answer to that question. I have no doubt that you will get some financial support from us dogs but I doubt whether you will make those kind of numbers. What other sponsorship do you have lined up?

Please note that I am not claiming to speak for all Wilddogs, but I know that a lot of you will freely help BB, since I have never seen a rider more dedicated to his branch of bike racing. If we also do the sums, every Wilddog needs to give a smallish amount to actually get things happening.
If  5000 members give only R100.00 each, it will already sort out BB's bike issues. Of course the less members contributing, the more the rest will pay :imaposer:

I have completely lost interest in the Dakar rally. It is now the Dakar multi-day-enduro. Another tradition that has died.  :-\

What do you mean domstes??  Is this not what the Dakar is about, long daily stages, testing both man & machine, finally seperating the men from the boys and the machines from the toys?  Hate to see anyone or dog loosing interest in what I consider the ultimate offroad race in the world.

Go BlueBull - my support is there.  look forward to and would be a pleasure contributing to your efforts.
