Carrol
Pack Dog
I went in ChrisL's place. People said it's a "guy thing". But I have a DS-bike and I LOVE riding it. It clears your head, it turns one day into a week. I went solo and made my motto: "So what!"
I packed my bike for it's first weekend trip
On my way. I had to stop after crossing the Garcia pass to wring out my socks. It felt as if my toes were sitting in water in my boots.
Some of the clouds on the pass
Turning off to my destination
Second stop to recover from rain, to unfreeze toes. Only thing keeping me warm is the heated grips, but are they working??
Very very nice dirt road until the next turn off:
In Laingsburg I pitched my tent. It crawled like a tortoise and then I realised I had to pin down everything with the tent pens
Didn't want to upset anybody so ventured to take my first picture of the fire at the braai:
Saturday morning ready to do the ride out> Here are all the photos I took about that:
Hey Dusty Rusty!
At the Riverbed:
Some nice bikes:
Beauty:
Nismark doing his thing:
ChrisL taught me to avoid the crowds so I stopped on the hill- no it's to not pull away on a hill
Stopping at turn off.Who is that?
Avoiding the crowds again:
Great Karoo Tree:
Solo detour to Matjiesfontein:
Had to get fuel:
Back in Laingsburg waiting for the rugby> Yes, I like to watch rugby and yes I understand the game - a little.
Stoetbul asking the Bulls not to applaud. They just went PINK
Was it nice. Skaapkoppie's smile says it all:
Thank you to everybody, it was very nice. Thank you SToetbul for the skaapkoppie, I think you went out of your way to accommodate me there, my suspicion. It is appreciated.
As a language teacher I learned a lot about language this weekend. I learned that an exclamation mark actually begins with an F.
I also learned that guys compliment each other by calling each other not KOOS, but _OOS.
I only talked to nice guys and don't have to compliment you as _ose though.
I enjoyed it a lot, the biking and the karoo was breathtaking. The expanse of nothingness took my breath away. It was one of my most relaxed weekends in a very very long time. :ricky:
