I'm wanting to do this event in 2013 but I'm not wanting to break the bank on a bike for it because it’s pretty much a specialist event. My Super Tenere will not be suited to the task and my KDX is below 450cc so I’m needing to add a 3rd horse to the stable.
Obviously a 690 Oryx would be first choice but that’s too expensive so I’m heading towards 2nd hand bikes ridden only to church on Sunday.
If we’re looking in the 30-45K bracket what bike would be best suited to the task?
I’m thinking along the lines of a WR450 with long range tank… or Husky 610?
Gotta admit that I’m nervous of going the 450cc route in case the rules change to > 600cc
Advice… preferably from those with experience in the race?
