It seems Sharky's comments as to the difficulty of riding at de Wildt scared a few people off, but eventually 8 guys turned up at Morula for breakfast.
They came on KTM's, BMW's and 2 Kwackers (Where was the Honda brigade?) I was one of the scared dudes, so I took the KDX you can just see it on the trailer in the background. The Vito had a HP2 inside!
I gave my camera to Shark as I didn't bring my jacket. So he took the pics
At the top of Coconuts going down
I found going straight across the rocks and not sticking to the path was a lot easier
The big bikes sukkeled a bit more. Herman on the 950
Ufudo on the HP2
Hats off to Frikkie! Either huge balls or just stupidity or both.....he went just about everywhere we did on the big 1150
We stopped at the shabeen and Shark dished out sweets for the kids
The 'big' bikes, HP2, 1150 and 950
The 640 brigade
The terrain was quite difficult and very dusty
Even the little bike had difficulty getting through some areas (might be due to lack of talent on the rider's part though)
The ride of the day award goes to Herman for doing 3 fence river on the 950. He missed the other 2 big bikes turning off onto the easy route and followed us down the river bed.
Only in Africa - public toilets
and then we were done, but Shark hadn't dropped his bike once all day, so he promtly knocked it over in the parking lot, causing a bit of damage.
We all had a great day, playing in what must be the best place to do it. Moerse thanx to Shark for again arranging and leading us through de Wildt. We'll be taking collections to buy his wife a HUGE bunch of flowers as he had explaining to do afterwards........ >
