Transalp / African Twin ?

I have only had the pleasure of riding my TA and really enjoy the ride BUT I am have a problem in that I like the AT equally as much ? There are two available close by,one the same blue colour as Briv's and a black one, the reason I am thinking of changing is firstly the AT has more power, is a bigger bike and can handle long trips on the dirt with a pillion and it has loads more "grunt".
What I would like to know is there a big difference in the handling , performance and fuel consumption. If anyone has some experience in the two please can you share your knowledge thanks.
