After reading about it, driving many a times past the turn offs and listening to so many stories we finally got there stayed a few days, met some good people drove through this very scenic place over 2 days. Onwards to Oudshoorn, go see Cango Caves play with ostrich, over the Swartberg Pass drive down to the Hell, and then out other side down to Prince Albert for 2 nights and back to CT, now in winter mode.

As we planned this for 7 people (my best friend and looney neighbour)his family and mine (4 adults and 3 small kids) it took quite a bit of time even starting at the end of Jan this year, accomodation for such a bunch and the KKNK that was on in Oudshoorn(everything in 50km radius booked) We had the use of Merc Vito which was perfect but closer to the time water in baviaans and crappy road to the hell put a stop to that. Next choice was Brians V8 auto discovery or a Isuzu d/cab, the d/cab let us down with u joint problems at no 99, so we hooked up a trailer loaded the lot yeah high and hit the road saturday am. The + -700km unfortunately became a huge pain in everyones b/side due to various and we eventually got there late in the night but to wake up to paradise the next morning. After a walk about in the absolute silence we heard the distinctive sound of a thumper coming, Jupiter was popping in for a visit and quick ride. As he knows most people in EC (or so it seems but it does help if youre the marketing Man for EC)) he went to say hi to our hosts the owners of Bruintjieskraal, Chris & Sanette. There wooden chalets are hidden in between the thorntrees and was probably our best stay
