KTM 640 performance improvement?

The 690 shown at the Paris show was a Ralley raid replica and will not be for sale before end 2009 soonest as I understand it.   The enduro versions alledgedly have major transmision problems under testing, the one they used on the Baja only lasted about 120km at race speed. The ones you saw imported by Proaction for some lucky Dakar contenders came in at a hefty R380000 each!

Slimey - Holy smacker !! If you have such a collection of toys, why not get a proper DS bike for DS purposes. The 640 is rather crap as an off road bike and very crap as an adventure bike. I also do not know why they call it a 640 Adventure !

Nardus I am starting to see the light, you have a very valid point 

Just put a set of TKC80's on the KTM, lets see if that improves the offroad performance

The obvious move would be to get yourself a cheap second-hand 950 Adventure. The 640 LC4 is too old now, and good for lumberjacks only.

Yep that the price for both front and back.    But I must say, plenty more fun than the old Saharas I had on. 

Big grin factor    Took them for a spin yesterday, still smiling!!! Who needs more power if you have proper traction 

I have solved my top end speed problem......if I sit down it goes faster
