Suzuki 200 ,make &model please ?
« on: April 14, 2012, 02:51:53 pm »
This one available for 1.8 k . It has a plastic tank. Does anybody know the model and if spares will be available. It`s a runner ,think it`s worth it for a rebuild as a play bike ?

Looks like a old DR200. It's a four-stroke.

Early model DR200, if engine was good it would have been a huge bargain, but I doubt that the engine was any better than the rest of bike. Any person or entity welding a lever to a shaft is a non-descript.

+10000000000000

I'll never buy a bike with any levers welded on a shaft, except if I have a spare engine already.

People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day. And doing nothing often leads to the very best kind of something.

Agree.

FYI:
The early kick start DR200 is quite similar to the DR200SE / 200 Djebel. Many parts will fit.
Note that in 2000 (after four model years) the DR200SE got a coated aluminium cylinder instead of the cast iron sleeve. Thrashed 2000 model and youunger engines are more expensive to rebuild.
