Master link mysteries?

Releatively new DID 520VX2 chain on my Husky ... regularly cleaned and lubed and wemt this morning to give the chain a first little tightening ... and faaark where is the masterlink clip???? :eek7: :eek7:  AndyAzz She eez gaawn. Lucky when I fitted the chain I had to remove a few links and recall that the plate on the masterlink was a good tight press fit.  :3some: So my question is not so much where/how did it go but is there a way of ensuring it stays put - I know the direction of fitting is important. I recall someone saying to put locktite or silicone or something on??? Guesss most things would just wear or washed off. Anyway check them master links!
