Free trials training for SA hopefuls

August 29, 2007

Four training camps for trials - the art of riding a motorcycle over large rocks and other obstacles - will be hosted in South Africa by a top international and three top local trialists before the end of 2007.

Two will be on October 6 and 7 at Syringa Park near Muldersdrift, Johannesburg from 9am-5pm each day. There will be no charge and each participant who completes the day will receive a certificate.

Training for females at Syringa will be give by Iris Kramer, one of the two top contenders in the FIM Women's Trials World championship. She regularly represents Germany

Men will be taught by three top South African trials competitors
.

Iris says that as long as a woman has a basic understanding of riding a motorcycle she will be able to teach them to compete in trials.

Men will be taught by top South African trials competitors Bruce le Riche, Brent le Riche and Gordon McEwan â?? each of whom have competed successfully at international level.

Other experienced riders with international experience, such as Charlie Simpson, Graham Harris and David Wood, will be to hand with assistance and information.

Graham Harris from Universal Trials will supply a limited number of trials bike for those who don't have a trials bike of their own.

Simpson has also offered to run training in East London and kwaZulu-Natal. Dates and venues will be announced later.

A registration form is available on the MSA website, www.motorsport.co.za.
