Cant work out whether we should all post in one thread or individually.  So here's some of my photo's and comments.  They can be combined with the others if necessary.

WHAT A GREAT RIDE!!!!

Thanks to everyone involved who put this together and made it happen, its something I will remember for a long long time!

I am extremely happy - I finished and enjoyed the ride - which was all I hoped for  :thumleft:

My overall impressions are:
1) I cant believe how well some of the guys on big bikes ride those monsters!  They were awesome.  I personally think bikes like GS800's, BMW Dakar's etc where never really meant for this sort of thing - but nobody told their riders, because hell those guys can ride!   I know for a fact that I would not have got my Dakar up some of those long gnarly climbs, well not without one mother of an unpleasant battle!  I'm in awe of their ability and grit!
2)  But when it comes to determination and guts, not to mention ability - well Rynet taught us all a lesson!  I asked her at the function how she managed to get through some of the stuff and she looked at me puzzled and replied "well I just open up the throttle" - so there you go, thats all it takes to ride a GS1200 through very difficult terrain!
3) I love my bike  :love7:

"Its not a race!" they said.

I decided to take that to heart because I work for myself and cant afford to land up in hospital, nor can I afford to wreck my bike and wanted to make sure I finished after all the time and money I spent preparing.

So for the first day and about half of the second day I rode well within my limits, quite cautiously and concentrated on religiously following the road book.

But half way through the second day, one too many 990's came blasting past the long fast flowing twisty section and I decided "stuff the road book" and chased him!  It was a lot of fun!  But I was never really racing, I did that seriously a long time ago and it takes a completely different mindset, but now I get far more enjoyment out of just riding at my own pace depending on my mood.

Ok Some photo's
