Day 7 Kamanjab – Kunene Lodge 394km - Easy day - "Chicken or Fish"We wake up and have a good old breakfast at Oppikoppi, today is going to be fairly easy, even though the distance might be a bit long the riding shouldn't be too bad......
We stop at a local spot to get fuel and a local "Oom" asks us about our route etc. he recommends we re-route a bit and go past Raucana Falls on the way to Kunene, he reckons the falls should be amazing ................... easy come easy go, we go via Raucana......
Some Scenery

After looking for Raucana for quite a while we eventually find it , you almost have to drive through the border post and then turn left and there you will find it, Liam and Eswee is too lazy to walk around in their kit, it is extremely hot and I am sweating like a pig but I make the effort to take these few pics form the other side.

Unfortunately the river was not flowing so the falls were dry, but still a pretty place, these rocks will make excellent riding for a enduro bike.....
We head off towards Kunene, the next minute I notice this ..............

Once again I left my ABS on, so it took me a while to stop and help poor old Mad dog......
I truly hate ABS on my bike ........... I wish it was never fitted
We eventually stop at a garage to have some well deserved lunch and fuel, as you can see even the goats needs fueling....

We have a "chicken" burger, but too be honest I have no idea what it was , it had the texture of fish and the taste of toilet paper with mayonnaise........ ugh.
Fishy chicken

We move on towards Kunene River Lodge

Once we get their we set up camp quite quickly, and start chatting to Pete the owner, he reckons the route for the next day should be interesting , it takes him 7 hours to complete Kunene to Epupa falls, it should be 97km's and he indicates we should just stay between the mountain and the river and then we will be ok. he looks at the rest of our route and said the rest should be easy once we have done the 97km's the next day ..........
The Kunene Camp is beautiful

Some other KTM riders arrive at Kunene, they camp across from us, we share a few stories, and they indicate they will be taking on the same pass tomorrow, so it should be interesting
We do notice that they are carrying much less weight than us, and a few comments are made on the amount of weight we are carrying ...........
That night we eat the toughest meat in Africa at our Braai with the usual

The other KTM riders dine in the restaurant in style.....
We confirm that we will be having breakfast the next morning before we depart .......
The next day will be the biggest day of this trip............. with a lot of rocks......... sand ........... etc. etc. Stay tuned....
