Lowveld Gems ...
« on: September 07, 2007, 11:19:29 am »
Being fortunate to stay in the Lowveld also means that we have time to search for the unusual little gems where you can find good food and nice company.

First one that I want to point out is a fabulous little place that is between Nelspruit and Sabie, close to Hendriksdal ... Artist's Cafe ... I am sure many have seen that little maroon signpost and wondered but shot past.

Well we went there for breakfeast ... a very good experience. The premises is located in the old Hendriksdal Station buildings and consists out a small restaurant and some rooms for overnight stays. Today I am showing you what we got for breakfeast.

Next time you are on that road ... make time and stop and you will be surprised.

You can go there for Dinner as well but you must book ... phone 013-764 2309 to book.
Never underestimate the power of denial.
Briek Merke ... wat ek so hier en daar op my lewenspad sien of los.

Here is another one that I am sure many of you have seen ... it is on the road between Lydenburg and Sabie ... sort of halfway in the Long Tom Pass.

It is in the dip of a long straight so I am sure, like me, this is usually where you pull the bike's ear very hard after the twisties to get some slime out of it's lungs ;) ... next time take it slower and turn off ...

Misty Mountain ... the place has good accommodation and a nice restaurant ... the menu is great ...

Never underestimate the power of denial.
