My GS burnt out this morning...
« on: June 05, 2012, 07:45:30 am »
Arrived at work this morning just after 5:30.. After about 5 minutes one of my technicians phones me and tells me to come outside as my bike is on fire!!

I run outside and after putting the fire out, this is whats left...  :(

The bike was purring like a kitten up to this day with ZERO hassles.. So now the fight with the insurance starts...

Anybody know whats the procedure for this, apart from phoning the insurance that is..

How does that even happen, i.e. how did the fire start?

Sorry to hear and hoping there are no hassles from your insurance.

Sorry Spyker, this is not nice :(

Maybe something similar:  My TA700 caught fire once - the cat got clogged up and overheated and set a plastic mudguard, situated just above the the cat, alight.  Luckily I caught it before the fire could spread and Honda replaced the cat under warranty.

Good luck with sorting out the insurance, hope you resolve it quickly :thumleft:

WTH.... that is terrible!

If there was a fuel line loose or something, maybe... but how does that happen....

Do you have CCTV overlooking the parking area, at least you can see if someone was walking around with a bottle of lighter fluid and a match...
