Looks like the fire started in that area, looks like most damage in the middle of the bike.

A fire expert will tell you that the initiation of the fire is not necessarily in the area where you find the most damage or where the fire burned the hottest and/or longest. Generally the area with the most damage is the area where the most fuel was, which is not always the fuel that initiated the fire.

Last year we were riding trails and while we rested my friends brand new yamah wr 450 caught fire wile we rested, just in a blink of an eye!  It was the overflow pipe that leaked onto warm exhaust.

i had my 2yr old 1150 gsa catch fire after a little off that merely scratched the tank.  it fell on its right hand side which of course is the side that the fuel pump etc sits.  rode it around that day and the next day as i hit the start button, wooof!  worst of all, it was new to me so wasnt yet insured...

what happens with these bikes?

Eish, sorry for your loss...  I know exactly how it feels when your once beautiful bike is turned into a mass of molten steel and rubber... but lemme not go there again.

Now if you were in Barberton this morning I would have assumed that the striking Municipal workers that looted and destroyed our beautiful little town would have been the culprits!!!  And I hear they are coming back again tomorrow, so best none of you come to visit if you value your bikes!

As for what to buy... the KTM is great, I love the 990, but I would not buy one (for various reasons).  The Triumph XC800 is really good, I only rode it on the track but she handled like a dream.

Thanks guys. The other bad part is that my wallet was inside the top case. Drivers license, credit cards, etc.. *poof* All gone!

So I had to go stand in the queue to get a temporary drivers license so I can show the insurance I had it...
Drove all the way to Langlaagte only to find out that E-Natis is offline. Ended up going to Krugersdorp and luckily got one there.

On a lighter note, Triple Black is not the latest and greatest color anymore.. It is now Matte Black!
