i also got tired of walking so tried to fix mine. You need to be fairly good at soldering, which I am not, so gave in and bought a new one which took 5 minutes to install and saves the walking. I couldn't find specs on the thermistor so bought the only the two varieties they had at the shop...

All I can offer is the following: In march this year i paid R50k for a bike with 84,000 km dealer serviced, crash bars, top box and panniers, 2003 with ABS and heated grips. Looked at another similar one without panniers, needed its next service for R 43,000.

Let us know what happens. Did a check yesterday and it took 34 minutes to top up the battery on the optimate , so definitely not my battery. When I get the chance I will disconnect the spots and see if this makes a difference. Along with many other things electrics are not my strong point.
