Thanks SGB for the great comments. I test rode the S today and it's a great bike. Different ride to my HP2.  Downside was the throttle which was "twitchy", so next week I will test the 2011 R and then decide. I honestly wish that BMW could wake up and produce a new version of the HP2, however...
