I have been trying to repair the plastic tank on my XR400 with plastic welding and have failed big time.... I have now given up. Will make another plan..
For sure, you are right.. There is a pic of the bike on the page where i introduced myself in February ish. I will take some pics this weekend on various options i have and see what you guys think. Will only be back online on Tuesday..

I did originally remould the tank by heating it with a heat gun, i have had to repair it a couple of times now and dont really fancy it getting a leak 500 km from home.... I have thought about modifying a steel tank.. I have a old Tenere tank, the very big steel one, it fits nicely...

I live in Harare and the cops can be a pain, doesn't seem like they getting paid so are extorting from motorists but as with most places in Africa, smile, wave and be friendly and you will generally be fine.. Enjoy the trip and look forward to the report.
